What is the significance of gangs in United States prisons?
I am beginning research for a term paper that I have for one of my classes. THe teacher wants us to explain what gangs represent in the prisons and other things. Please help if you can!
i think the gangs were formed by racial groups to provide protection for their members. they have evolved into organized crime syndicates within the prisons. they also have contacts on the outside that coordinate criminal behavior outside and in other prisons.
